Company description
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation is a charity launched by Dame Ellen MacArthur in 2010. The aim of the charity is to accelerate the transition of businesses to a circular economy. In recent years they have been a global thought leader establishing the importance of a circular economy within businesses, governments, and academia.

Sustainable achievements
- She has claimed that whilst sailing around the globe things came into focus for her and she became aware of how finite are resources are
- She launched the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in 2010 to increase circular economy
- In 2015 she carried out a TED Talk outlining her views on a circular economy: The surprising thing I learned sailing solo around the world
- The Foundation has worked with numerous companies including: H&M, Nike and Google
- Ellen was one of the BoF (Business of Fashion) 500 in 2018 for her work in circular economy in the fashion industry
- She is a is a World Economic Forum Global Agenda Trustee for Environment and Natural Resource Security and board member of its Platform for Accelerating the Circular Economy
- Between 2012 and 2014 Dame Ellen MacArthur sat on the European Commission’s Resource Efficiency Platform
