and Oceans Day.

The conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of nature are indispensable for
realising the objectives outlined in the Paris Agreement.

This dedicated thematic day aims to facilitate the transition of land use and ocean systems
to support development that aligns with climate goals and fosters a positive impact on nature.
Central to this focus is the scaling of robust solutions that safeguard, restore, and effectively
manage natural ecosystems, while also addressing the root causes of nature loss. The day
emphasizes empowering Indigenous Peoples and local communities and creating resilient
livelihoods. Furthermore, it will highlight enabling actions that generate new financial flows
and integrate climate-nature synergies into transition plans and reporting frameworks.

Notably, the day will showcase initiatives that expedite the implementation of the
Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework—an recently adopted agreement providing a comprehensive framework to halt and reverse nature loss, contributing significantly to the
realisation of a climate-safe future.
